Our Story

Hope Totes began as a quiet whisper from the Lord — an idea that He placed on the heart of Jayla Messer long before it came to life. For a season, Jayla wrestled with the calling, telling God she wasn’t capable of carrying it out. But as He often does, the Lord gently reminded her that He equips those He calls.

In obedience, Jayla stepped out in faith and began bringing the vision to life — a ministry built on compassion, hope, and the heart of Jesus. What started as an idea for simple care packages, known as Hope Totes, has grown into something bigger: an overarching ministry called For The Least of These.

God continues to expand the vision. Each local outreach — or story— that distributes Hope Totes will be known as For The Least Of These Stories, a reminder that every act of kindness matters and every person is deeply seen by God.

This website is another step of faith — a space to share the story, connect hearts, and invite others to join what God is doing. Jayla’s prayer is simple: that those who are often overlooked would be seen, cared for, and reminded that they are loved — both practically and spiritually.
